Colorado Supreme Court Ruling: Employers Must Pay Out Earned But Unused Vacation Pay

A recent Colorado Supreme Court ruling clarified that employers must pay employees for earned but unused vacation pay at the end of their employment.

While employers still can limit the maximum amounts of vacation time that employees can earn or accrue, they CANNOT avoid payout of earned and accrued vacation time by adding exceptions to employment agreements or otherwise withholding the payout.
